Dear Colleagues,

I'm thrilled to share exciting new developments in Q4 2023.

Our second Hotel Mi property, Hotel Mi Rochor at 89 Short Street is opening before the end of the year. We'll be writing an exciting new page as in less than a month, the current PARKROYAL on Kitchener Road will be rebranded to Novotel Singapore on Kitchener on 1 November 2023 through our partnership with Accor.

We've also recently welcomed two new overseas assets in Australia, which are ibis Melbourne Central and Novotel Melbourne Central. Worldwide Hotels now has 11 properties in Australia, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea and Thailand.

Marking a significant milestone in our journey to enhance our brand identity to better align with our vision and the overarching Worldwide Hotels brand,V Hotel Management Pte. Ltd. is renamed to Worldwide Hotels Management (V) Pte. Ltd. and Hotel 81 Management Pte Ltd to Worldwide Hotels Management (H) Pte. Ltd.

As we venture into this new chapter of growth and expansion, I'm filled with anticipation and enthusiasm. Our team's dedication and unwavering commitment to excellence have paved the way for these exciting opportunities. Together, we will continue to set new standards and create unforgettable experiences for our guests.

Name Details
Mr. Eric Eric identified a flaw in our new PMS that could potentially result in serious non-conformance or fraud. He promptly reported this to management, and the matter has been escalated to the IT Department for necessary action.
Mr. Yu Ming During our transition to Opera, Yu Ming went above and beyond by working both the day and night shifts, ensuring a smooth transition, especially during a challenging period when a colleague was on medical leave. In the initial days of using Opera, Yu Ming voluntarily stayed late to settle room accounts and payments, preventing room inventory issues for the next shift. His exceptional dedication and teamwork were invaluable during this period.
Ms. Lynette Lynette, with nearly seven years of experience here, showed remarkable dedication during our transition to the Opera system. She efficiently led the effort to transfer bookings from Opera back to HMS, completing the task in just a week. Lynette also assisted part-time staff in transferring booking data to Opera Cloud. Within three weeks, she fully adapted to the new system and aided colleagues with complex routing measures. Her commitment and adaptability were crucial during this transition.
Mr. Yash Yash recently assisted a guest from Thailand whose friends were lost outside the hotel. Yash helped by identifying their location on Upper Thomson Road using photographs they sent. He arranged a taxi to ensure their safe return to the hotel.
Ms. May May's commitment to enhancing her language skills, particularly through online English lessons, has been impressive and beneficial for our team.

She consistently delivers exceptional guest experiences by warmly greeting guests, promptly fulfilling their requests, and maintaining impeccable rooms. Her commitment to quality is reflected in her consistently positive online reviews, with zero negative feedback for the rooms she cleans.

Beyond her regular duties, May readily assists her colleagues, earning their respect and fostering teamwork. When asked about her willingness to help, May emphasizes the importance of supporting fellow colleagues in a foreign country.

What interesting fact about yourself that most of your colleagues are not aware of?
I'm a marketer by day but a passionate baker at heart. I create a variety of delicious treats like baguettes, red bean buns, red wine bread, pizza, fruit tarts, mille crepes, and cookies. Among my loved ones, the Pandan Chiffon Cake is a top favourite.

Please share 1 proudest moment or memory?
One cherished memory stands out: my late father's 2011 Best Cleaner Award in Singapore's North-East District. At 72, he devotedly cleaned tables, defying stereotypes about his "low-class" job. His unwavering commitment and belief in giving his best, despite societal labels, left a lasting impact. He insisted that job satisfaction came from effort quality, not perception. Even when we urged retirement, he clung to his work ethic, declaring, "As long as my body can, I'll work." His story taught me that pride stems from dedication, not a job title.

Whom do you admire most and why?
Another figure I greatly admire is Steve Jobs. He redefined technology, crafting elegant and user-friendly experiences. His pursuit of excellence, unwavering commitment to innovation, and boundary-pushing resonated with me. Beyond a tech genius, he was a master storyteller, intertwining technology, design, and emotion to elevate products. His anticipation of consumer desires showcased his intuitive grasp of human needs. Steve Jobs' legacy teaches that innovation isn't just about what's possible but what's beautifully imaginable.

What drives you / what motivates you?
Each morning, I embrace the possibilities of a new day with the gentle touch of dawn and the sun's warm rays. A cup of freshly brewed coffee fuels my motivation. I've learned that life's beauty lies in its unpredictability, and I now relish living each chapter as it unfolds. Letting go of the need to foresee allows us to embrace the magic of the unknown and its serendipitous moments.

Your hobbies?
Jogging is a daily ritual for me, not just for its health benefits (I've shed 16kg during the pandemic) but also for uncovering hidden treasures in my neighbourhood. Each run is an adventure. I'm an avid reader, drawn to the unique styles of different authors. It's like exploring a gallery of words where every sentence is a masterpiece. And yes, I'm a K-drama enthusiast! 😄 Korean storytelling's creativity and emotional depth never cease to amaze me.

I have this not-too-unique hobby, which started back when I was in primary school. It began as an encouragement from my class teacher. It has helped me to see the world as a little girl and bring dreams into my life later. This unusual hobby is "Stamp Collection. "To pursue this "see the world" dream, I travelled to the destinations on the stamps. Currently, I am collecting the Miniature Sheet rather than the normal stamps, which has a bigger story to the eyes.

Please share 1 proudest moment or memory?
To be my parents' daughter is my biggest gift. I was being brought up in an environment full of love and respect.

Whom do you admire most and why?
My dad has always been my greatest role model in life. His hardworking approach, unconditional love for the family and the values he has shared have moulded who I am today. Despite being a daughter, he never exercised what a strict father would have been to me. He has given me the fullest trust and freedom to choose, lead the life I want to be and be happy.

What drives you / what motivates you?
I love challenges, which will motivate me to stay focused and alert on things I need to do.

Your hobbies?
My hobbies evolve with age; at the moment, I enjoy travelling, photography, walking and hiking, food appreciation and attending art exhibitions. Stamp collection, my childhood hobby, is still going strong after years, and I hope for a more interesting collection.

2. Ensure links are directing to ".hdb.gov.sg" or "go.gov.sg" websites.

3. Look out for the lock icon beside the URL, which signals that data traffic within the site is encrypted.

4. Never reveal One-Time Password (OTP) and credit card details over an email, SMS or phone call.

5. Check for any misspelling, substitution of letters, and/or the deliberate shifting of ".gov.sg" to other parts of the web address.
